Wayne Bayne
Secretary

Wayne Bayne is a keen recreational angler and has always been passionate about it since a young age. Immigrating to Australia in 1971 from the Caribbean, Wayne soon found his way into the marine industry and has since owned and operated his own dealership which originated in Sydney. He later moved to Cairns along with the business and has accumulated 37 years experience in the marine industry and is well rehearsed about the current climate in the marine retail sector.

Over time he has witnessed many additions and changes to rules and regulations imposed on fishing and boating. However it wasn't until 2002 that Wayne decided to take more than just an interest such issues. The governments re-zoning of the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) was not only going to impact on recreational users of the marine park, but would also inflict damage upon the very industry he was involved in. At this point, the first industry meeting was called and it was here that the dawn of a new political party was soon to emerge.

It soon became apparent to Wayne that the outdoor recreational fraternity needed a political voice if they were going to be heard. With his help, this lead to the formation of The Fishing Party Queensland (now the AFLP) which quickly gained momentum and later earned itself, due to its rapidly increasing membership, a reputation as a political contender. That involvement continues today with The Australian Fishing and Lifestyle Party while maintaining a clear a precise direction...."Responsible Environmental Practices".
